UrbanFUTURE is dedicated to the success of urban youth through character formation, academic growth and career preparation programs. The organization functions within the school while engaging the home and involving the community to create a strong foundation supporting the student for maximum academic and personal growth. UF provides mentoring, tutoring and enrichment programs for students in order for them to reach their full potential.

Individual Dignity
UrbanFUTURE places great emphasis on the dignity of each individual person, who is seen as possessing unique and unrepeatable characteristics. All individuals, even the most disadvantaged in society, have the right and the duty to achieve their full potential in order to better serve their friends, families and society as a whole. UrbanFUTURE ensures that each student receives the personal attention of a mentor to help the student develop his/her intellectual, social, cultural and moral potential. Character Formation
UrbanFUTURE defines character as the sum of the habits that incline one to act responsibly in a given situation. For example, honesty inclines one to tell the truth despite the consequences, and courage inclines one to overcome difficult odds in pursuit of a good end. UrbanFUTURE believes that building the character of the students in its program is an important, if not a critical part of preparing them to become contributing members of society.
Family Commitment
Since the growth of children depends principally on the family, UrbanFUTURE assists parents in their role as the primary educators of their children. UrbanFUTURE fosters the active collaboration of parents in its mission, and believes that the family must contribute in some manner to the support of the programs in which their children participate. Involved parents not only value the character development and academic assistance their children receive, but also learn the importance of devoting attention to their children's success.
Academic Growth
Academic excellence is seen as an opportunity to explore areas of interest, discover hidden talents, and reach one's full potential. UrbanFUTURE's programs encourage students not to settle simply for high academic achievement, but to develop a certain ambition and intellectual curiosity that enkindles a drive to succeed. The personal example and high expectations of the mentors is fundamental to achieving this outcome.
