For the past five
years UrbanFUTURE (UF) has worked with select 6th,
7th, and 8th grade students at Fanning Middle School
located in the Tower Grove community in south St.
Louis. Data obtained in the ’05-’06
school year in addition to data collected during previous
years of operation will tell a story of achievement for
those students who have participated in UrbanFUTURE programming.
It is the goal of UF staff to ensure that students
graduating from Fanning who have participated in three
years of UF programming, read at grade level, have
an engaged parent or guardian, have mastered the art
of goal setting and have practical experience in a
vibrant character education program. Ultimately, they
have a much clearer sense than their peers of where
they are headed during their high school years and
beyond.
