One on One INSPIRE™ implements a team model of mentoring including the student's parent or guardian, a mentor from the community, and a teacher who work together to maximize the student's potential for success both in and out of the classroom. The team targets academics, personal goal setting, literacy and character formation to enrich the student and make education a family priority. Mentors and students meet weekly to cover character topics, set academic and character goals and to work on literacy activities. To support and ennoble the parent, mentors speak with their student's parent each week to discuss progress, setbacks and achievements. Teachers inform parents and mentors of problem areas for the students and further support the student in accomplishing his or her goals.
